A man was arrested in Henry County following a chase that began in Eden. Just after midnight on Sunday, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Eden Police Department to notify them that they were in pursuit of 30-year-old Devron Dillard on Highway 87 heading towards Henry County.
When Henry County deputies located Dillard he was traveling at speeds over 100 mph on Morehead Avenue in Ridgeway. Deputies then used a precision immobilization technique to stop Dillard, who lost control and hit a guardrail.
Dillard then busted the window out of his vehicle and led deputies on a short foot chase before being taken into custody. Authorities found narcotics including cocaine and crack cocaine in Dillard’s possession.
Dillard has been charged with manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with intent to manufacture, sell, give, or distribute a controlled substance. As well as felony eluding and fleeing law enforcement.
Dillard was also wanted for eight warrants by Danville Police and Eden Police are also expected to press charges. He is currently being held without bond.
