Traffic is backed up on US-29 in Pittsylvania County due to a vehicle fire. According to VDOT, the fire occurred in the vicinity of Woodlawn Academy Rd and Rt. 1437.

Motorists can expect delays as all northbound lanes are closed and traffic is backed up for at least a mile. Northbound traffic is being detoured onto Route 640 (Spring Garden Road), onto VA-57 (Halifax Road) then back onto US-29.
