A man was arrested after two cars were stolen in Henry County on Friday morning. At 9:08 am, the Martinsville/Henry County 911 Communications Center received a call about someone stealing a 2012 Blue Subaru Abreeza from the Family Dollar, located at 2540 Virginia Ave. Collinsville, Va.
The owner of the vehicle witnessed the incident and described the suspect as a black male with grey shorts, and a blue shirt. At 9:18 am, another vehicle was reported stolen from 95 Printers Ln. in Collinsville, Va. The owner of the vehicle stated that he witnessed a black male with grey shorts and no shirt stealing his White 2010 Toyota Prius.
At 9:44am, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office recovered the stolen 2012 Subaru Abreeza at the Collinsville Library located at 2540 Virginia Ave. Collinsville Va. As deputies were recovering that vehicle, a worker at Auto Tech located at 1730 Virginia Ave. Collinsville, VA, reported that a black male wearing grey shorts parked a white Toyota Prius at this location and took off running across the street towards the Econo Lodge, located at 1755 Virginia Ave. Collinsville, Va.
Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to both locations. The stolen 2010 Toyota Prius was located at Auto Tech and the suspect, Deangelo Tywan. Waller, 42, 138 Elam Dr. Ridgeway, Va, was located hiding in a restricted area of the motel. He was taken into custody without incident.
Deangelo Waller was charged with two counts of felony grand larceny. He is currently held in the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bail.
