Three men were killed in Halifax County on Sunday after the boat they were in capsized. According to the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office issued a report that three people were missing after a boat capsized at Banister Lake.

30-year-old Dre’ Tucker, of Halifax, 20-year-old, Zacharich Carter, of Virgilina, and 22-year-old Elijah Tucker, of Indian Trail, NC, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation, but investigators believe the driver of the 14-foot Jon boat made a sharp turn that caused the end of the boat to go under water and sink. The three men were not wearing life jackets and were ejected from the boat.
