A Reidsville man has been arrested for second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Acting on a Cybertip from the North Carolina State Bureau Of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Rockingham County Sheriff’s Investigators conducted a search warrant at 159 Circle Loop in Reidsville on Tuesday.

After conducting a search warrant at this location, investigators arrested 63-year-old Jeffrey Wayne Whitaker. He was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Whitaker is on the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry for a June 1982 conviction in Forsyth County for a second-degree sex offense.

Whitaker was taken before the magistrate and received  no bond because this arrest occurred while Whitaker was already on pretrial release for an indecent exposure charge on which he is awaiting trial. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
