God’s Pit Crew will be working with the Church of the Highlands in Alabama to assemble Blessing Buckets on Saturday. The buckets will be filled with emergency supplies including non-perishable food, first aid supplies, hygiene items, Bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement. Church members and local community members in Alabama will use the specially designed mobile assembly lines to gather the buckets and fill them with items that will help provide hope and help for survivors of major disasters. This event will help to replenish the inventory of Blessing Buckets that have already been distributed for disasters that have occurred so far this year. Teams are expected to fill over 1,000 buckets on Satureday.
One of the crews Blessing Bucket Co-Directors Miki Jenkins said of the event, “We are very grateful for the heartfelt relationship between God’s Pit Crew and Church of the Highlands. It is truly a blessing for all of these people to gather together and take the time to assemble these Blessing Buckets. Blessing Buckets are desperately needed for disaster survivors and are God’s Pit Crew’s first line of response after disaster strikes. The buckets provide emergency supplies, along with emotional and spiritual encouragement when people need it the most.”
So far in 2024 God’s Pit Crew has responded to 12 disaster situations across the country and have delivered over 8,000 of the Blessing Buckets including an ongoing response in Houston to those impacted by Hurricane Beryl.
