Average gas prices across Virginia jumped six cents this week to $3.45 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by a penny to $3.51 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville climbed by 11 cents to $3.38, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is up by a penny to $3.34 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price jumped 13 cents to $3.37 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is up by a nickel to $3.36. Prices in Halifax County are up by 14 cents and are above the state average at $3.50 a gallon.
