A Yanceyville man was arrested on several charges including kidnapping and assault on Friday. According to the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Justin Newton Evans was arrested on one felony count of first degree kidnapping and two felony counts of assault by strangulation.

Evans was also charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault on a female, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of communicating threats, one count of larceny, and one count of interfering with emergency communications.

Evans was placed in the Caswell County Detention Center under no bond and will have his first court appearance on Wednesday.
