Three people were arrested in Rockingham County last week during Internet Crime Against Children sting operations. On July 23, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, working in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Invictus Task Force, and the Reidsville Police Department arrested 51-year-old Jeffrey Ray Surles of Reidsville, NC.
Surles was arrested and charged with Indecent Liberties with a Child and Solicitation of a Child by Computer, wherein the Defendant appeared at a designated location to meet with a minor. Surles was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $175,000 secured bond.
On July 26, 51-year-old Lisa Owens Mabe and 52-year-old Mark Wayne Mabe were both arrested and charged with Indecent Liberties with a Child, Solicitation of Child Pornography, and Solicitation of a Child by Computer, wherein the Defendants appeared at a designated location to meet with a minor. Both were placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under $225,000 secured bonds.
