A Martinsville man was arrested following a high-speed chase that crossed into North Carolina on Saturday. 51-year-old Otis Hill Jr. was arrested for felony eluding police and obstruction of justice.

Hill was also wanted on multiple outstanding felony warrants.

The chase began at 3:18 pm on Saturday when a Henry County Sheriff deputy attempted to stop a Red Ford Ranger on Horsepasture Price Road. Hill refused to stop and the chase began down Horsepasture Price Road.

Speeds during the chase reached as high as 80 mph with Hill at times driving into oncoming traffic and running other vehicles off the road. The chase crossed over into North Carolina and as the driver reached the Martinsville Loop the deputy successfully used a Precision Immobilization Technique to stop the truck.

The maneuver caused the truck to slide into a ditch and roll on its side. Hill was then taken into custody.

The female passenger in the truck was transported to a local hospital for a laceration on the back of the head. Hill is currently in the Henry County Adult Detention Center under no bond.
