The Danville Police Department is investigating animal abuse at a local pet business located in the 200 block of Ash St. where a dozen dogs were seized in poor condition.
On the evening of Thursday, Aug. 15, officers responded to a complaint of possible animal abuse and neglect with the request of checking the welfare of dogs at Danville Pet Resort.
The ongoing investigation and subsequent search of the location today led to the seizure of 12 dogs in poor physical condition, some requiring immediate veterinary assistance.
The Danville Area Humane Society aided in transport and seizure of the animals.
An investigation is ongoing. No charges have been made at this time.
