Last week Danville City Council approved a resolution to support the Industrial Development Authority of Danville’s Application to the Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission’s Southern Virginia Program and Matching Said
Grant Request.

The grant request is for just over $4 million to assist in the grading of an 80-acre pad at the Coleman Site. Governor Glenn Youngkin recently awarded Danville $9 million Virginia Business Ready Sites Program development grants for the Coleman Site.

The Coleman Site is a 158-acre industrial site owned by the Industrial Development Authority of Danville, and entirely undeveloped. The site offers utility and transportation infrastructure that is conducive to large-scale manufacturing processes.

The projected completion date for the revitalization of the site is in 2026.
