A Danville man was killed on Sunday after stepping out in front of a tractor trailer. 45-year-old Tony Lee Ford reportedly stepped out in front of the Volvo tractor trailer at 12:30 am on I-40 East in Jefferson County.

A report from the Tennessee highway patrol said Ford walked from the right shoulder and into the second lane. The driver was unable to stop.

Officials said the driver won’t be charged.
