“We are excited about the 2nd Annual Bats and Badges and looking forward to two fun nights to honor our first responders. Last year was the first year and we had a great turnout, so we are hoping for this year to be bigger and better,” said Karen Harris, Executive Director of God’s Storehouse. “We have five teams competing in the tournament on Sunday, September 8, and are very grateful to our event sponsors for helping make this event a success.”
Funds raised at this event will help cover the operating costs needed to provide food distribution for over 1,000 families each week. That’s an average of 174 families per day. More than 18,000 boxes of food have been given out thus far in 2024 which is 13% more than 2023. The need is great in our community and God’s Storehouse is thankful for the many individuals, faith groups, businesses and organizations that donate food and money to ensure we are able to provide food boxes to our neighbors in need.
“The need in the community for food is greater than ever,” said Harris. “We couldn’t do what we do to help people without the generous support of our donors. We are grateful for every single donation.”
