Former Piedmont Broadcasting President T. David Luther died on Sunday at 82. Luther retired from WBTM and WAKG in 1998. Luther’s career in broadcasting lasted over 60 years after starting as a DJ at just 13.

Luther was then elected to Danville City Council from 2000 to 2012. He also served as Vice Mayor in the last two years of his tenure. 

Luther then went on to serve as the Executive Director of the International Broadcasters Idea Bank. He retired in 2020.
