A man has been charged with arson in Rockingham County. On August 23, at around 8 pm, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fire at 191 Trantham Rd. in Reidsville, following a reported disturbance at that location.

Working in collaboration with the Rockingham County Fire Marshal’s Office and Safe Labs Forensic Laboratory Services, Rockingham County Sheriff’s Investigators determined the fire was arson.

At the conclusion of the investigation 42-year-old Jonas Allen Stricktland of 191 Trantham Rd. was charged with second degree arson. He was arrested and placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under no bond.
