Firefighters in Pittsylvania County responded to a fire on Mt. Cross Road early Wednesday morning. According to Pittsylvania County Public Safety, the call for the fire came in just before 12:30 am at 2988 Mt. Cross Road.

The call reported that smoke could be seen coming from the attic. When firefighters got to the scene the fire had spread throughout the house.

All of the occupants in the home were able to escape without injury. The house is considered to be a total loss due to the damage.

The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time, but it could have been an electrical fire that started in the attic.
