One person has been taken into custody after a threat was made to Tunstall Middle School on Wednesday. According to Pittsylvania County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Mark Jones, officials were notified of a threat that was on TikTok at 5:30 pm.
According to Jones, by 8 pm on Wednesday the person responsible for the threat had been located and taken into custody. Information on the person that was taken into custody has not been released at this time.
Dr. Jones added that Pittsylvania County Schools takes any threat seriously and that the safety of the students is always the top priority. He also added that appreciated the good work of the administration team, the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, and the School Resource Officer for how quickly the situation was handled.
