Average gas prices across in Virginia dropped by eight cents this week to $3.04 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is down by seven cents from a week ago to $3.20 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville dropped by a dime to $2.86, while the average price in Pittsylvania County dipped by four cents to $2.91 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is down by a nickel to $2.93 a gallon and in Henry County the average price dropped by nine cents to $2.93 as well. Prices in Halifax County dropped by 13 cents and are in line with the state average at $3.04 a gallon.
