A juvenile has been charged after making threats of mass violence against Morehead High School in Eden last week. On Wednesday, The Eden Police Department received information about threats made to Morehead High School.

The department began looking into the threats towards Morehead High School, made by a student via text thread to other students. As a result of the investigation, officers learned that the juvenile student who made the threats was a student of Morehead High School.

After a thorough investigation and consulting with the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office, the information was relayed to The North Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice to obtain a juvenile petition against the responsible minor for Communicating Threats of Mass Violence Against Educational Property.
