The National Weather Service in Blacksburg says that heavy rain will bring the potential for flash flooding around the area over the next couple of days. Strong storms on Wednesday, followed by heavy rain from Hurricane Helene Thursday and Friday is expected to cause the flooding.

The NWS is currently forecasting the southside to get 3 to 4 inches of rain Wednesday and Friday night. There is also the potential for flash flooding from repeated rounds of heavy rainfall.
