The National Weather Service in Blacksburg is reporting that the tornado that touched down near Dry Fork on Friday was an EF-2. The tornado was on the ground for 6.85 miles and had a top wind speed of 118 mph.
The tornado was on the ground for 18 minutes and started three miles southwest of Dry Fork and ended six miles west of Chatham. About 30 structures were damaged by the tornado and one mobile home was completely destroyed.
