One person was injured during a shooting in Martinsville on Monday night. The Martinsville Police Department responded to a report of a man being shot at 701 Corn Tassel Trail at 9:49 pm.

Once on scene, officers located a 47-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The man was transported to a local hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.

Officers processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses. Based on the information gathered, it is believed that there is no further danger to the community at this time.
