God’s Storehouse will be hosting their Annual Shred Out Hunger Event on Saturday, November 2nd from 9am until noon. The partnership with Commonwealth Document Management will allow members of the community to bring non-perishable food items or a monetary donation to God’s Storehouse on Memorial Drive to have their personal documents shredded. Volunteers will collect items from vehicles so donors may remain in their cars during the process.
“Our food donations are beginning to dwindle this time of the year,” said Karen Harris, executive director of God’s Storehouse. “We need help from the community to restock our shelves, especially with holiday food items, so that we can provide for those in need. Hungry families in the area will benefit, as well as the donors in having personal documents safely shredded.”
So far in 2024 God’s Storehouse has assisted more than 2,000 families and have given out over 23,000 boxes of food.
“The need in the community for food is greater than ever,” said Harris. “We couldn’t do what we do to help people without the generous support of the community. We are grateful for every donation.”
