Election results are in for the City of Danville and unofficial results suggest that all five incumbents for Danville City Council will be re-elected. While there will be two new members on the Danville School Board.
In the Danville City Council race Lee Vogler was the top vote getter at just under 9,000 votes, followed by Madison Whittle at just under 8,800 votes, Larry Campbell Jr. at just under 8,100 votes, Sherman Saunders with 7,480 votes, and Barry Mayo at 7,476 votes. Challenger Shakeva Frazier received the most of any challenger at just over 6,600 votes.
For Danville School Board, Vice Chair Tyrell Pain received the most votes with over 8,700 votes, followed by incumbent Keisha Walker with over 8.623 votes, challenger Kacey Cunningham with 8,616 votes, and challenger Corey Williams with 7,875 votes. Incumbent Charles McWilliams III lost his re-election campaign with 5,474 votes.
Voter turnout for Election Day in Danville was 29.59%, however 30% of voters chose to vote early or by mail. Official results will be certified on November 15.
