11 people have been arrested on drug charges in Martinsville. On Monday, November 4, a Grand Jury issued 30 indictments related to the distribution of illegal drugs. The Martinsville Circuit Court sealed those 30 indictments on 14 individuals until the individuals could be arrested.
On Thursday, November 7, members of the Martinsville Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police, the United States Marshal’s Service and assisted by the Martinsville Sheriff’s Office and the Martinsville Henry County 911 Center set out to arrest the narcotic’s warrants. Currently, 23 of those indictments have been served.
These indictments resulted from the Martinsville Police Department’s continuing effort to fight the distribution of illegal drugs and the harm they do to our community. Each arrest was made possible by the strong partnership that has been developed between the community and the Martinsville Police Department.
Those that were arrested and their charges are listed below:
Deandra Candy- two counts of distribution of meth, distribution of heroin, distribution of fentanyl, possession of a firearm while selling a schedule I/II drug, and possession of a firearm by a violent felon.
Buford Preston- possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug, and felony eluding police.
Jessica Beal- distribution of a schedule I drug and distribution of a schedule II drug.
Leanna Walker- two counts of distribution of meth.
Stephanie Carter- distribution of meth.
Keith Brim- manufacturing cocaine.
Ricardo Thawe- two counts of distribution of meth.
Nicholas Clouser- possession of meth.
Misti Williams- two counts of possession of meth with intent to distribute third count.
Danielle Chappell- possession of fentanyl.
Cory Bragg- possession with intent to distribute meth second count.
