A South Boston man was killed in a shooting in Pittsylvania County on Tuesday. According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday at 7 am, deputies were dispatched to 1382 Old Quarry Rd in Ringgold Virginia for a reported shooting incident.

Once on scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gun shot wound. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-ol Tauron D. Brown Jr. of South Boston. Brown’s body has been transported to the Medical Examiners Office for the Western District of Virginia where the cause and manner of death will be determined.

A suspect has been identified and was detained at the time of the incident; at this time charges are pending further investigation. The Commonwealth’s Attorney is assisting with the investigation.
