A man that was shot during a standoff with Danville Police in January has pleaded guilty in court. 25-year-old Nicholas Beddoo pleaded guilty to charges of discharging a firearm on school property and assault of a law enforcement officer. His sentencing will be held on January 6th.
The incident occurred after school hours in the parking lot at Westwood Middle School when Danville Police received reports that an armed man was making threats.
Officers attempted to negotiate with Beddoo for nearly 30 minutes. He fired one shot away from officers and then pointed the gun in their direction.
Officers then shot Beddoo. He was given first aid at the scene and taken to the hospital.
