The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office has provided an update about human remains that were found in Reidsville on Sunday. Investigators say they don’t believe the skeletal remains that were found are connected to any report of a missing person in Rockingham County or any surrounding agency.

Evidence was located along with the remains that indicate a possible ID of the individual. However, they cannot confirm the individual’s ID until the autopsy is completed and the medical examiner officially identifies the individual.

An individual found the remains in a wooded area while walking their property lines at the 7900 block of U.S. Hwy 158 West in Reidsville.
