Last night, Danville City Council voted in favor of some proposed condos and an assisted living facility. J. Cubas Holdings LLC requested to rezone two parcels along Goodyear Blvd to multifamily residential.
In total the land is 22.5 acres. The plan states that the development will have a yield of 240 condominium units and 180 assisted living units.
The Danville Planning Commission had unanimously approved the proposed project.
City Council also approved a new proposed day care in the city. Katillia Johnson requested to allow for operation of a new daycare center at 130 Clarkson Street.
The building formerly operated as Tot Spot and will now be called JJ’s Clubhouse. The child day care operated as Tot Spot from April 1,1992, to April 10, 2019 and has now been vacant for over two years.
There has been a need identified within the area for child day care centers. The operation of a day care at 130 Clarkson Street will assist to fulfill this need in a structure designed for this operation. The subject property is also conveniently located near the Franklin Turnpike intersection, a main thoroughfare, to allow ease of access and minimal disruption to the surrounding neighborhood.
