A 17-year-old was killed during a shooting in South Boston last week. According to the South Boston Police Department, the incident occurred on Nov. 26 just after 10 pm, when officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 700 block of Lincoln Drive.

According to witness statements the victim was riding in a vehicle when the shooting occurred. Then at around 10:15 pm, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office received a call about someone suffering from a gunshot wound at 4026 Mountain Road.

The victim was discovered at the address and died from gunshot wounds.

According to the Gazette-Virginian, 19-year-old Rashad Jones has been charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for the shooting. Jones is being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail under no bond.
