Caesars Virginia has announced that the new resort and casino will officially open on Tuesday, December 17. The casino had originally planned on opening on December 12.

The opening event will feature a parade at 10:15 am that will start at the corner of Main St. and Craghead St. Five-time NBA Champion Dennis Rodman will be the Master of Ceremonies for the parade and will place the first bet at the Caesars Virginia Sportsbook.

Following the parade there will be remarks from Caesars Entertainment and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian executives at 11 am. There will also be a fireworks and drone show starting at 8 pm. The casino will officially open at 12 pm.

“We know that there is tremendous excitement for our grand opening, and we appreciate everyone’s patience with this short delay. The Team has been working around the clock to officially open the doors of Caesars Virginia, and we cannot wait to begin welcoming guests on Dec. 17,” said Chris Albrecht, senior vice president and general manager of Caesars Virginia

The hotel will be 12 stories with 320 rooms. The hotel will also feature 28 suites, floor to ceiling windows, a pool and a spa on the bottom floor. The resort will also feature a a convention space and an entertainment venue.
