One person has been arrested for a Danville shooting that happened in July 2024. On July 19 at approximately 9:56 pm, officers responded to a 911 call of shots being fired at a residence in the 1500 block of Halifax Rd. Once on scene, officers discovered a 40-year-old Ringgold resident suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. While on scene, a 19-year-old male and 20-year-old female, both from Danville, arrived at SOVAH Danville emergency room with non-life threatening gunshot wounds that occurred at the same incident.
Following an extensive investigation, the Danville Police Department arrested Antroy Sameal Knowles, 25, and charged him with three counts of malicious wounding, three counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, three counts of reckless handling of a firearm that caused serious bodily injury, five counts of discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling, and one count of malicious damage.
Knowles was arrested in North Carolina and is being held in the Rockingham County Jail pending extradition.
