On Thursday, Danville City Council held their inaugural meeting. During the meeting, Mayor Alonzo Jones was re-elected to serve another two-year term. Jones has served as they Mayor since July 1, 2018.

James Buckner was elected by Council to serve a two-year term as Vice Mayor. Dr. Gary Miller served as Vice Mayor for four years.

Larry Campbell, Barry Mayo, Sherman Saunders, Lee Vogler and Madison Whittle won re-election in November and took their oaths of office. Council members serve four-year, staggered terms. The other members of the Council are Jones, Miller, Buckner and Bryant Hood.
