The South Boston Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying three individuals who committed felony grand larceny at the Riverdale Plaza Food Lion on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
At approximately 2:09 pm that day, officers responded to a report of a shoplifting in progress at the grocery store, located at 1020 Bill Tuck Highway. Food Lion employees attempted to stop the three unknown white males from stealing several shopping carts full of merchandise in the parking lot. However, the suspects were able to flee the scene in a black Ford Focus SE with North Carolina license plate “RJS-3440”, heading southbound on Huell Matthews Highway.
Surveillance footage and images of the suspects and their vehicle have been made available. The individuals are also known to operate a gold 2003 Honda Odyssey van using the same license plate, and are believed to reside in the Vance County/Henderson or Granville County/Oxford areas of North Carolina with ties to Halifax County/South Boston, Virginia.
