During their first meeting of 2025 on Thursday, the Danville School Board selected Ty’Quan Graves as their Chair and Keisha Averett as Vice Chair. They will serve in these capacities for the next year.
Graves has served on the school board since 2018, and this will be his third year serving as Chair. Averett has served on the school board since 2021, and this will be her first year serving as Vice Chair.
Graves and Averett were chosen to serve in their capacities in a majority vote in the school board’s annual organizational meeting.
The meeting was the first for new board members Kacey Cunningham and Dr. Corey Williams, who were elected in November. Their terms will last until December 31, 2028, along with Tyrell Payne and Keisha Walker, who were re-elected to the board in November.
The remaining members of the board are Averett, Graves, and Dr. Keith Silverman. Their terms will expire on December 31, 2026.
