The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Danville, Pittsylvania County, South Boston, Halifax County, Eden, Rockingham County, and Caswell County.

The advisory is in effect from 1 pm Sunday to 7 pm on Monday. Mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow accumulations up to a half inch and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice accumulations.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Martinsville and Henry County. The warning is in effect from noon on Sunday to 7 pm on Monday.

Heavy mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 5 inches and ice accumulations up to four tenths of an inch.

Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause scattered and long-lasting power outages. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
