Average gas prices across Virginia are up by five cents this week to $2.94 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by four cents to $3.06 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville is up by two cents at $2.82, while the average price in Pittsylvania County climbed by seven cents this week to $2.84 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is up by six cents to $2.78 a gallon and in Henry County the average price jumped by four cents to $2.85. Prices in Halifax County are up by a penny this week to $2.99 a gallon.
