The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has updated the expected snowfall totals for the Winter Storm Warning across the southside. The NWS is now projecting 4 to 6 inches of snow across the southside.

The warning includes the cities of Danville, Martinsville, South Boston, Eden and Yanceyville. The warning also includes Pittsylvania, Henry, Halifax, Rockingham, and Caswell counties.

The warning will be in effect from 1 pm today to 7 am on Saturday. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.
