Pittsylvania County Treasurer Vincent Shorter has agreed to continue serving as interim county administrator effective January 1 through April 30, 2025, as the Board of Supervisors continues to look for a permanent replacement.

The Board unanimously voted at its January 3, 2025, reorganizational meeting to appoint Shorter under the same terms as his appointment to the position in June 2024, contingent upon his agreement to do so.

Shorter will be paid $6,250 a month, payable in installments in the same manner and timing as other employees are compensated.

Shorter was appointed by the Board in June following the resignation of former County Administrator Stuart Turille Jr. Shorter’s initial appointment lasted six months.

At its November 19, 2024, business meeting, the Board hired MGT Impact Solutions LLC to assist with the search for a new county administrator.
