The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man that robbed a gas station on Thursday night. 19-year-old Kimari Justin Lacks of Halifax, has been arrested for the robbery of the Spirit convenience store.
He has been charged with:
- Armed Robbery
- Use of a firearm in commission of a felony
- Wearing a mask to conceal identity
- Brandishing a firearm
- Concealed weapon
He is being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.
According to deputies, the Halifax 911 Center received a call at 9:15 pm of an armed robbery at the Spirit convenience store in Centerville.
The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Halifax Police Department and South Boston Police Department responded to the call. When deputies arrived, the clerk on duty stated a black male came into the store, presented a small handgun demanding money from the register. The assailant quickly exited the store, No one was injured during the incident.
The Halifax County Sheriff’s office initially posted videos of the suspect and robbery on Facebook asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the assailant.
