A Rockingham County man that has been missing for nearly a week was possibly seen on Friday. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office 79-year-old Morris Fain was possibly seen at the Sheetz Gas Station in Ridgeway between 10-11 am on Friday.
Fain was reported missing on Monday January 13.
He is believed to have been traveling in a 2001 White Nissan Altima with a taillight out and a handicap placard hanging from the rearview mirror. Fain was last heard from last Monday at around 4:30pm while driving to 312 Acme Street in Reidsville, but he never arrived at that location.
After releasing the initial report that Fain had been reported missing, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office received information that he was seen in Danville on Monday evening at the Auto Zone where he stopped and asked for directions back to Reidsville, as he had become lost.
Later, Fain stopped at the Liberty Gas Station on Franklin Turnpike in Danville and again asked for directions to Reidsville. He was escorted by a motorist from the gas station to US 29 Bypass where he exited to the southbound lane.
Fain was wearing a flannel button-up shirt, Blue jeans and Gray in color “Hey Dude” shoes.
