The Boil Water Advisory originally issued for part of Pittsylvania County on Saturday, has been lifted, effectively immediately.
The advisory was lifted after clear rounds of testing and in consultation with the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water.
Consumers can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking and food preparation without precautionary boiling. The advisory was issued after a contractor doing underground cabling hit a water main along 58 West in the vicinity of Faith Memorial Church on Friday
The areas affected included areas North and South of Rt 58 Martinsville Highway between Westover Drive and #7688 Martinsville Highway, Berry Hill Road, Westridge Farms Subdivision (Blue Ridge View Dr, Ridgeway Dr, Westridge Dr.), Beckham Court, Beckham Lane, Rivertree Drive, Bowe Street, Pin Oak Lane, Meadowview Drive, Meadowbrook Circle, Martinsville Hwy (from Westover Dr. west to the 58 Expressway Overpass) and West Carter Drive.
