Martinsville City Schools has announced Beverly Woody as their district teacher of the year. Woody is a 6th grade U.S. History teacher at Martinsville Middle School.

In addition to a bouquet of flowers and a certificate recognizing her honor, Woody also received a special gift from her alma mater, Patrick & Henry Community College, a gift basket from her colleagues and a Honda Prologue courtesy of Autos By Nelson to drive for part of the school year.
