Three men have been charged in connection to a homicide that occurred in Eden in 2016. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the intersection of N.C. Hwy. 14 and Harrington Highway in Eden for a reported motor vehicle accident on November 20, 2016 at 1 am.

Upon arrival deputies found a silver van located in the wooded area just off the roadway. Inside the van they found 23-year-old Cornelius Clark, of Reidsville, deceased from a gunshot wound.

In late 2024, the Rockingham Sheriff’s Office Detective Division, was able to utilize new technologies that provided sufficient evidence to charge Demetrius Deshawn Hairston, 34, who is currently incarcerated in the N.C. Bureau of Prisons, with the First-Degree Murder of Cornelius Clark.

Additionally, Hairston was charged with Shooting into Occupied Property in connection to a vehicle being struck by gunfire at the intersection of Ellette Ave and Oakland Ave in Eden on November 20th, 2016 following Clark’s homicide on that date. No passengers of that vehicle were struck by the gunfire.

Mandre Daquan Graves, 34, who is currently incarcerated in the Virginia Bureau of Prisons, was also charged with this Shooting into Occupied Property for his involvement in that incident. Graves is awaiting extradition from Virginia where he is currently incarcerated on other charges.

During the course of the investigation into the homicide of Cornelius Clark, Rockingham County Investigators gained information into the breaking and entering that occurred at 1893 Mt Carmel Church Road in Ruffin, N.C. on November 19, 2016.

As a result of the information uncovered, Timmy Anthony Williamson II, 29, was charged with Felony Breaking and Entering of that residence. Timmy Anthony Williamson II was arrested on December 23rd, 2024 in Anderson South Carolina where he currently resides. Timmy Anthony Williamson II waived extradition and was returned to Rockingham County and is currently incarcerated in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $9,000 secured bond.

Rockingham County Sheriff’s Investigators believe the Shooting into Occupied Property that occurred at the intersection of Ellette Ave and Oakland Ave in Eden on November 20, 2016 and the breaking and entering that occurred at 1893 Mt Carmel Church Road in Ruffin on November 19, 2016 are connected to the homicide of Clark.
