A fire in Pittsylvania County burned 70 acres on Friday. According to Gretna Fire & Rescue, crews responded to the fire on Zion Road at 1:16 pm.
Crews reported that about 30 acres was on fire when they first arrived. The fire spread quickly towards the woods and a structure.
Once the fire was extinguished 70 acres had been burned. There were no injuries in the fire.
Crews from Blairs, Chatham, Climax, Hurt, Renan, Riceville-Java, Medic 4 PCPS, and Forestry assisted with the fire.
