Average gas prices across Virginia dropped by a nickel this week to $3.03 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is down by three cents to $3.09 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville is down by two cents at $2.84, while the average price in Pittsylvania County fell by a nickel this week to $2.87 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is down by three cents to $2.96 a gallon and in Henry County the average price dropped by  five cents to $2.95. Prices in Halifax County fell by 13 cents this week to $3.04 a gallon.
