
Local Electric Companies made progress on Thursday night returning power to customers. As of 7:45 am Friday, the number of Danville Utilities customers without power has been cut to 424 after being around 1,300 on Thursday.
Mecklenburg Electric has cut the number of customers without power to just under 1,300 after nearly 4,700 customers were without power on Thursday. The company says that crews are in route to various locations across Pittsylvania County. In particular, they have eight broken poles to replace today, five of which are at the Shockoe Substation along Spring Garden Rd and Motleys Mill Rd.
