The pilot of a helicopter was killed during a crash in Pittsylvania County on Saturday. The crash occurred just after 3 pm in the 2000 block of Campview Road near Whitmell School.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by Virginia State Police and the National Transportation Safety Board. The pilot was identified on Sunday as 72-year-old Paul Jackson.
Jackson had been giving a tour shortly before the crash, but had dropped off the other passengers before the crash.
