Two families were displaced by a fire in Danville on Thursday morning. The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported apartment fire at 221 Sedgefield Ln.

Upon arrival crews found fire in the attic of a duplex apartment building. It was quickly determined that all occupants were outside and safe.

Crews made entry and searched the building to confirm that the building was unoccupied while additional crews attacked the fire. Damage to the building was moderate and no injuries were reported.

The response included four engines, one tower truck, a safety officer and a Battalion Chief. The cause of the fire appears accidental and is being investigated by the fire marshals’ office. The two families were displaced and are being assisted by the Danville Red Cross.
